2021 NWSL Champions Hope to do it Again

If you don’t know the Washington Spirit by now, you’ve been missing out on the best of National Women’s League Soccer! Winner of the 2021 NWSL Championship, this team shines!

The Washington Spirit is one 8 NWSL inaugural teams and is based out of the Washington DC area. Spirit Games are played at Audi Field and Segra Field and draw fans from all over the Maryland and Virginia region. 

A group known as the Spirit Squadron keeps the stands loud, cheering on many of the most powerful female players in the country!  Their roster includes Aubrey Kinsbury, Trinity Rodman, Kelly O’Hara and Emily Sonnett, as well as Devin Kerr, who plays on the Canadian National Team and Karina Rodriguez, who plays on the Mexican National Team.

Last season, the Washington Spirit defeated the Chicago Red Stars 2-1 in extra time to take home the Championship and they’re the team to beat this year.
